I appeared on the Grandparenting episode of Insight.
I went on as a grandfather with a question I’ve been trying to answer:
What are grandads for now?
Childhood has changed. Parenting has changed. Men have changed. We’re living longer. And many grandads are arriving at this stage of life with years of capability still ahead of them.
Yet our idea of Grandad hasn’t changed much at all.
I’ve spent the past few months trying to understand what that might mean — for children, for their parents, and for the millions of men becoming grandfathers.
This is where I’d start.
What Are Grandads For Now?
